RADIO AMERICA PROGRAMMING START
ON XDS-PRO SATELLITE RECEIVERS

Dear Affiliate:

Radio America programming is now available on the X-Digital Systems (XDS) PRO 4 satellite system as of September 1, 2009. Your station is authorized to take Radio America programming. We are very excited to bring you this upgrade. NOTE that Radio America programming will continue to be available via the Starguide III satellite platform.

Now that XDS is active, you must have Radio America programmed in your XDS schedule in order for audio and Netcues to work properly. Stations must wire Netcues for Radio America from the same receiver they are getting audio from. So, if your station is using the XDS receiver for audio you MUST also receive Netcues from the XDS receiver. Similarly, if your station is taking audio from the Starguide receiver you must take the Netcues from the Starguide receiver.

Our satellite distribution provider, Citadel Media, has Affiliate Technical Services available Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, ET to assist with questions about your receiver. If you need technical assistance:

Phone: (212) 456-5000 (option 4)
Fax: (212) 456-5708
E-MAIL: techservices@citcomm.com

If you have questions concerning Radio America programs, please contact the Affiliates Department at 1-800-807-4703 ext. 250.

Why are we making this change?

The XDS-PRO receiver represents the very latest technology to be applied to network program distribution, and is packed with features that will benefit your station:

Automation functions not found in any other receiver. This will allow you to configure sequential program schedules via a personalized Web page where you can customize your receiver to match your programming. No more having to switch channels manually, or to use external switching devices.

Four audio ports means four stations. The automation functions allow the four audio ports on the XDS-PRO to drive up to four radio stations at your site. The network audio for each station will come from the single output port assigned to that station, on the schedule you designate.

Self-service Netcue feature allows greater flexibility. Need to make a change in your Netcue relay setup? Just go to your receiver Web page and set it up with a few keystrokes. You can make Netcue mappings temporary for special programming or permanent for run-of-schedule programming. No more having to call the Network for a Netcue map download.

Built-in digital recorder allows you to record programs for later playback, with Netcues. No more having to record programming yourself or settling for fixed refeed times. You can designate record times and playback times by configuring your receiver via the Web interface.

Make changes from the Web. The XDS Web interface allows you to make all of these changes from anywhere on the World Wide Web. No more having to go to the station to make last-minute changes. You can do it from home or from the road.
