Outside the Wire takes listeners beyond beltway politics and the cable news stories that are recycled through different media outlets throughout the day. Outside the Wire covers the important news that is being ignored by the rest of the media and explores angles that the mainstream press is not covering. Outside the Wire is hosted by Kevin Wall. Born and raised in Missouri, Wall considers himself a Pragmatic Conservative. Hes a fiscal conservative while moderate on many social issues. Wall comes to general purpose talk from the world of sports radio, where he worked at the very highest levels of the industry. At the network level, the 48 year old Wall co-hosted Westwood Ones long form coverage of the Olympics (2000, 2002 and 2004). In addition, Wall has hosted his own nationally syndicated sports talk show on Sporting News Radio. According to Wall, the appeal of talk and sports talk changed dramatically in the wake of September 11, 2001. At that point, Wall charted a course that would bring him into issue-oriented talk. Westwood One has used Wall to fill-in for Lars Larson, Jim Bohannon, Ron Insana and many others. Along with Wall, Outside the Wire will feature correspondents inside and outside of the United States including Jerusalem Post writer Caroline Glick and military analyst Lt. Colonel Buzz Patterson. Also web commentator Bob Parks will keep listeners apprised of the stories the blogosphere is discussing along with?Parks biting opinion on the issues of the day. |
